Gracias a su diminuto tamaño y su forma de sujeción, puede ser utilizado en infinidades de aplicaciones donde se requiera controlar temperatura y proteger motores. También se puede utilizar en hornos, dispensers de agua, fotocopiadoras, electromedicina, accionamiento de turbinas, calefactores, extractores de aire, etc.

El termostato KSD301 250V 10A es dispositivo bimetalico (de dos metales con diferente coeficiente de dilatación) diseñado para mantener constante la temperatura dentro de un espacio cerrado. Sirve para calentadores de agua electricos, hornos electricos, calefones electricos, calefactores, controles de temperatura, incubadoras, hornos de gas, boiler, etc.
Funcionamiento
Consiste en dos láminas de metal unidas (a lo que se conoce como bimetálico) con diferentes coeficientes de dilatación térmico. Cuando la temperatura se incrementa, las 2 láminas se dilatan en distinta longitud lo que hace que la forma del bimetálico cambie automáticamente, esta deformación se aprovecha para actuar sobre un contacto que abre o cierra un circuito eléctrico. Al bajar la temperatura el bimetálico regresa a su forma original y cambia el estado del contacto eléctrico a su estado inicial (cerrado o abierto).
